New 2017 Chrysler 300 at Thompson Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Baltimore for Baltimore, MD
There is a grounded, wide appearance inherent to the Chrysler 300 series, due in part to its expansive, box-like dimensions and imposing grille. The inside makes a good impression too with reduced road noise, modern technology, and plush comfort. The Chrysler 300 has smartphones covered as standard with the 4th-generation Uconnect system, which has compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. New features for 2017 also extend to a Ceramic Gray color choice, both Exterior and Interior Sport Appearance Packages, and a ton of updates to the 300S model. That new Ceramic Gray exterior paint color gives the 300S an industrial seriousness that stands out, plus that model gains heated and ventilated seats for 2017! This is the capable mid-size, deluxe sedan you have been waiting to impress both business associates and family members alike with, let's read on to find out why!
Under the 300's Hood
There are two powerful engine choices available within the Chrysler 300, starting with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 variable-valve timing (VVT) engine which propels the 300 with its 292 horsepower (in the standard setup) and makes 260 lb-ft of torque. The other amazing engine found is the 5.7L HEMI V-8 VVT with Fuel Saver Technology and interactive deceleration fuel shut-off (iDFSO), which generates 363 horsepower and spins 394 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that reviewers find responsive and smart. Owners are allowed the ability to pick between dual drive systems, with the standard as rear-wheel drive and the option an all-wheel drive (across all models). Every Chrysler 300 model for 2017 is available with the most technologically advanced AWD system in the mid-size sedan market, which, to improve fuel economy, incorporates an active transfer case and front-axle-disconnect system. This advanced AWD system seamlessly vacillates between rear- and all-wheel drive with no driver input needed to maximize fuel economy. The 300S gets a sport-tuned suspension (RWD only), LED foglights, and steering calibration to match its sporty approach!
Design of Chrysler 300
For 2017, the Chrysler 300 can be obtained in four model levels, called the 300S, 300C, 300 Limited, and the 300C Platinum. A new-for-2017 package is the Alloy Edition Package, which goes with the 300S trim and brings a blacked-out exterior, Dark Bronze accenting, black Nappa leather with caramel-colored Stitching, and extra Liquid Titanium accenting. The all-new, 4th-generation Uconnect System enables smartphone integrations as standard on all 2017 Chrysler 300 models. Android Auto accesses Google Maps, Google voice search, and Google Play Music through the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen (or steering-wheel controls). Apple CarPlay is right next to that and gets iPhone owners access to Apple Messages, Apple Maps, phone and Apple Music through Siri Voice control (or via the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen). The new Uconnect system employs performance augmentations with amped processing power, a fast startup time, intensely-displayed imagery, plus high resolution for sharp graphics. The new 8.4-inch touchscreen with navigation allows multi-touch gestures with the latest swipe, pinch, and tap capabilities. Standard on the 300C Platinum (and available on the 300C) is the 19-speaker, subwoofer, and 900-watt amplifier combo (included with Harman Kardon Audio Group)!
What premium features are in the 2017 300C Platinum that set it apart from the other models?
The French accent-stitched 300C Platinum has 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels, model-exclusive Platinum Chrome finishes, a sport mode with paddle shifters, segment-exclusive quilted and perforated Nappa leather seats and door panels to match the signature two-tone Indigo/Linen (Black also available) interiors, natural-pore wood that is hand-sanded, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a custom chrome accent ring!
