New 2016 Dodge Dart at Thompson Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM of Baltimore for Baltimore, MD
Motorists looking for a modest and value-laden sedan should turn their attention to the Dodge Dart of 2016. The five passenger commuter-oriented sedan offers a pleasant ride at a competitive price. It features five trim levels, which are the SE, SXT, Aero, GT and Limited. The Dodge Dart is a compact sedan aimed at people who are looking for good fuel economy and some performance edge. While the name Dart was used on a previous vehicle, the current Dart debuted with the 2013 model year. The car is based off Fiat's Compact platform.
Under the Dart's Hood
Mileage estimates in the Aero trim with this force-fed I4 are slated to remain an impressive 28/41/32 in the stick-shift-toting variation, and 28/40/32 with the shiftable automatic. The Dart SXT, GT, and Limited are each scheduled to return for 2016 with the standard 2.4-liter normally aspirated I-4. The SXT and GT each will boast a standard 6-speed manual transmission, while the Limited will pack a standard 6-speed automatic that will remain available to the other trims. Fueling the base SE will be a 2.0 liter inline four cylinder I-4 engine that puts out 160 horsepower and 148 pound feet of torque under the management of either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional six-speed automatic transmission. Despite this lack of grunt, estimated mileage is expected to return at 25 mpg city/36 hwy/29 combined in the manual shift Dart SE, and 24/34/27 in the automatic-toting versions. The 2016 Dart returns with a 1.4 liter turbo charged I-4 engine that, when mated with the standard 6-speed manual transmission or with a unique 6-speed shiftable automatic, throws down 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.
Design of Dodge Dart
The Dodge signature cross-hair grille treatment and Light Emitting Diode racetrack taillights emphasize the 2016 Dart sedan's sporty look. It's functional too, with all models boasting fuel efficiency-enhancing active grille shutters, which are optional on SE models. It boasts an interior that's larger than you might expect. Spacious and well designed, there are plenty of soft-touch surfaces, and the controls are nicely laid out. The standard interior on SE and SXT models is nice enough, but the visual pizazz of the floating-island dash is well liked, and it is standard on Aero, Limited and GT models. The 8.4" Uconnect touch screen system in other Dodge vehicles lives in the Dart intact. The large center console bin and glove box can swallow all your knick-knacks, and the rear seat is big enough for adults. Thie 2016 Dodge Dart may be the best looking compact sedan in its class. The sleek and sexy lines uniquely blend European sensibilities with American brashness in a way that you wouldn't think possible. There's a lot of space between the front and rear wheels known as wheelbase, and combined with the wide stance makes the Dart look ready to tackle the most aggressive mountain roads.
